PURELY PROTEIN

How to choose a protein powder

Protein powders differ in their protein source, how much protein they contain, how they taste and how they mix. This guide explains the main types and what to check on the label.

1. Pick a protein type

Whey protein is made from milk and mixes into a classic creamy shake. Whey concentrate is the everyday option; whey isolate is filtered further and usually has more protein per 100 g. Browse our whey protein.

Clear whey and clear protein mix with water into a light, juice-style drink rather than a milky shake. See clear whey.

Vegan and soy protein are plant-based and contain no milk ingredients. See vegan protein.

Casein and protein blends give a thicker, creamier texture. See casein and blends.

2. Compare protein per 100 g and per serving

The fairest way to compare powders is protein per 100 g, then the serving size. Most of our powders use a 30 g serving. Use the protein comparison table to see every product side by side.

3. Choose a flavour and pack size

Most powders come in 400 g to 900 g packs and many flavours. Bars and shots are sold as a box of 12 or as singles. Flavours that are temporarily out of stock show as sold out.

4. Check ingredients and allergens

Ingredients and allergens differ by flavour and are printed on the label. If you have an allergy or intolerance, contact us before you order. Food supplements are not a substitute for a varied diet and a healthy lifestyle, and this guide is not medical advice.
